China is among the first few countries who will get their hands on Nokia 5800 release probably in next month. However a disappointing news for Chinese people is that there will be no option for 3G and WiFi in Nokia 5800 XpressMusic. The news is yet to be confirmed by Nokia.
The reason behind the lack of 3G capabilities could be the bad 3G network coverage in China. But removing WiFi too from the Chinese version of 5800 is quite surprising. The basis for that could be some rigid policy of Chinese communist govt. China already have all their traffic filtered and stopping their people to enjoy WiFi is just illogical and unreasonable to our belief.
Removing these features may also be a strategy to bring down the costs for Chinese market. Its still unsure if Nokia will design a variant of 5800 phone especially for China or it will just disable WiFi and 3G options in the software itself.
Well whatever it will be, Chinese are capable enough to crack it somehow and use the disabled features as well

hi, has anyone figured out how to “crack” the no wifi thing in the chinese vesion? I just bought a 5800 last week, and didnt realise there was no wifi. is it just due to software or have they removed the hardware needed for wifi?
