How many times have you been caught on the wrong foot by the Rain Gods? Well, we are no strangers to this and we have finally found an application which can save us from this agony. Accuweather is a very handy widget from the very reliable Accuweather.com. If you have been following up on Nokia’s flagship N97′s, the weather widget on the homescreen is from this very widget but 5800 homescreen doesn’t support widgets as of now.
Accuweather offers a host of useful information like daily forecasts, hourly forecasts, maps, a bar graph showing weather variation over the day and a calendar showing weather variation over the past month. Can you think of any other weather information that you might need? We can’t think of any as of now but do read further on for a few more tidbits on this awesome application on 5800.
Some Screenshots highlighting different forecast windows:

When it comes to weather data, the data is only as useful as the units that are displayed in as not all are comfortable with the metric system. Well, AccuWeather doesn’t disappoint us here either with its customizable units (Celsius and Fahrenheit) and date format (DD/MM and MM/DD).
The widget claims to forecast data for 9 locations but when we tried to add a second location, the widget crashed on more than one occasions. Do leave us a comment if you are able to add more locations easily.
In general, we are very satisfied with the performance of the widget and its recommended for your 5800s. With this widget, you should never be caught in rain/snow or on a hot and sunny afternoon on your outings. With Accuweather widget on your 5800, you won’t be needing data from the local Met department!
In all the widget works good and its free too. You can go ahead and download this application for free from the ovi store (as usual, you need to be logged in to access the download link).

Where is this widget available? Could not find this onthe OVI store.
Accuweather website itself does not list this widget on its download page.

I use the AccuWeather widget, and I was able to add a second location (I only have two total, because that’s all I need). Its a very sharp looking addition to my 5800!

Accuweather has become my default program for weather information. It looks good and most importantly, the weather forecasts tend to be correct.
I have added three locations to the program and switch between them regularly on my 5800 with no issues whatsoever.
Highly recommended.
