Continuing the good work that our friends at Espoo have been doing over the last couple of weeks, they have now updated the Ovi store. Yeah we kept reading from them and elsewhere that Ovi store is all set to get a new revamp and boy, they did deliver on the promise.

So what’s the update all about? Honestly we think, this is the best iteration of Ovi store we have seen from Nokia. Looks like the folks at Nokia took a long look at the list of complaints reviewers and users kept throwing at them and finally took the time to iron them out before churning out their update for their app store. After all they are competing with iTunes App store and lest we sound raucous, we think the Ovi Store is ready for a head-on fight with Apple’s iTunes App store. Read more »

Yeah, Skyfire-the only other mobile browser (other than symbian and microB), capable of rendering flash content on mobile devices is now available for symbian fifth edition device, still in 1.5beta though. We have been waiting to get our hands on this browser from our 5800s since long and the dawn of 2010 has finally bought this amazing browser to our dear Tube 5800s.

So, what’s the thing with this Skyfire which made this browser win the “People’s Voice Best Mobile Application” in the 2009 Webby Awards? We were hoping something like this would happen but we would be lying to you if we claim to have smelled this before Nokia left this cat out a couple of days ago.  Yeah, we are talking about the new avatar of Ovi Maps offering  free turn-by-tun voice guided navigation across 74 countries in 46 languages.

The latest move by Nokia is taking the navigation tools competition to a new level, a level very few services can sustain. Google started the trend with its similar free service in the US with its android app but Nokia beat them hands down, by offering a similar service across the globe and going by the present market penetration of Nokia devices, it’s anybody’s guess which is going to shape the navigation industry in the long-run. We just got the BREAKING NEWS we all were dying to hear since long. Yeah, the much awaited Firmware Update v40 finally lands at our Nokia 5800. The update brings with it Kinetic Scrolling and a New Home Screen similar to 5530′s.

The update has just started rolling out and is not yet available in all parts of the world. Do check on your 5800 if its available for you via OTA (Over the Air) or NSU (Nokia Software Updater).
