My nokia 5800 fell into the swimming pool. I removed the battery and left for a day to dry it up as i did not want to take chance and its working fine. Amazing ! . Even I saw couple of videos and this phone works even in water, freezer and vertical drops.

OMG my nokia 5800 dropped into the toilet and i took out the battery and the stylus. After about a minute, i put back the battery and swiched on the phone and it started i could still use the touch screen but after about 10 seconds the phone switches automatically! Any suggestions ,.. pls help or i will be killed…

Does anyone know if the screen can endure hard stylus assault? :/ It’s because I recently installed a Paint app on my 5800.

nokia 5800 is not so strong because nokia 5800 is touchscreen phone and that case he is not strong.

Sorry i have to say you r wrong! my 2day old 5800 fell in water and is has been with Nokia Care (Amodu Ojikutu,Nigeria) for over a month! What a regret! what an incompitent bunch called Nokia Care!

ooh! Thats awesome! I bought a 5800 from ebay last week and its due to arrive in the next few days and I’m so excited! But I was a bit worried as im pretty clumsy and drop my 6300 all the time and the front casing has come apart from the phone so I was scared that I was going to ruin my new phone!! but this has made me feel MUCH better! thanks!!

Funny tests, actually…

Obviously, these are things we are not going to try at home.

About champagne vs water…I don’t know who has the higher conductivity factor (I believe champagne was used to drop the 5800 in for a reason).

I just don’t believe that much on the “ice test”. They show the phone losing the touch sensivity, but they did not record till the device got sensivity again (if it did). There’s nothing telling us the device is the same after that test. Anyway, Nokia didn’t build it to be used at -20ºC lool.

But to be truth, I’m very impressed. Specially about the water test. I never though the phone would handle it. I own one, and it actually isn’t very isolated, specially on the front, on the touchscreen borders.

My 5800 fell into the toilet about half an hour ago.
I pulled it out immediately and removed battery,sim card and even stylus.
I dried it off with a towel and blow dried it a while.
Leaving it apart over night and praying that when I assemble it together, it will be fine.
So nervous right now.
I will be back to update :/
