Recently we wrote about Nokia’Messaging Service being developed for the S60 5th Edition phones. Nokia Beta Labs have today released a BETA version of this push mail client for the Nokia 5800 XpressMusic.
The service allows you to get push email from up to 10 different email accounts, such as Windows Live Hotmail, Gmail, and even your self-hosted email. The final release of Nokia Messaging for the Nokia Tube will be out in May. Before that, you can try out this beta and let them know if you face any issues.
Known Issues with the S60 5th Edition client-
* HTML support is coming in a future release.
* You many encounter a few quirks involving jumping between mailboxes.

You can store email messages for up to one month with Nokia Messaging. Those messages are stored in the device memory of your phone, so you may wish to change the amount of stored messages in the settings on your device.
When you initially set up Nokia Messaging you will receive email from the last three days, then automatic delivery of new email will begin. Old email is stored to the value you set in the Settings menu.
Check out this quick video in which Davis Fields explains several features unique to the touch platform-

If you have a Nokia 5800, then you need to get this application since it blows away the default Messaging client.

hi all ↲I’m a little surprised to read things like ‘email on 5800 is impossible’ etc. In my case, i had the phone since january this yr, and have been using my gmail, hotmail, n yahoo mail accounts on the phone. I set up using the built in wizard and never had a problem! ↲I use fring too on my phone and think it’s a great app with almost all u need in terms of features. ↲It has been a disappointing experience for me to own this phone, not because of features or anything but because of hardware issues, bugs, n faulty accessories. Nokia service is pathetic n are experts at making u run around a couple of times before they do anything. The phone had hardware issues with d display which they took 20 days to fix and return. ↲I never liked nokia phones because they are overhyped and overpriced. Now i don’t think i’ll make d mistake of buying from them again, and since i’m d unofficial tech n gadget support for my colleagues, friends n relations, i’ll make it a point to tell them to stay away from nokia. Here’s an example: i bought the phone when it was priced at rs. 21950 approx. In India i.e. Around $400 plus. I get d phone, a wired handsfree cum earphones(stereo). My device is faulty the display garbles up. Nokia care(?!!) takes 21 days to fix it and return it to me, with the wrist strap and plectrum missing and scratches on my phone. I raise the issue but apart from those pre formatted and printed enails get no resolution. The the headset works only in one ear, and having gone to nokia care again n given another story to come back i decide to replace it on my own. Bought it from d market for rs. 750.00 while nokia sells it for over rs. 1100 which is a huge 50% added to mkt price! ↲Now the phones been updated to firmware v 30. Something and that has brought new issues like ur touch makes a button 1 inch to d right of d one u actually press. Plus d phone now is rs. 16000 i.e. A little over $300.00 and also comes with a freebie sennheisser behind d neck type stereo headphone worth rs. 2500 or $50… I really hate em, i pay more for a lemon, in thru trouble and learn i was fleeced n given a faulty set.
