If you are struggling to find a decent Nokia 5800 application for chatting / instant messaging, here is “Fring” finally out for you (officially). We posted the beta version of Fring few days ago and some of you found that its missing some important features.
Fring guys released the final version today with all the usual features included and bugs out now. Check the video demo below how well it works on the Nokia 5800 XpressMusic.
This is what Fring wrote on their blog about the release- “As soon as Nokia announced the 5800 a few months ago, the fring forums, Twitter and Facebook pages became red hot with fringsters asking us to create a fring for this very cool device. Well, you asked and we answered.”

Dear Admin,
Gimme solution for Fring installation.
1) I have firmware version 2
2) While I’m try to install and error message says certificate expired.
3) Though I read couple of bloggers suggest the format the firware which I dont want to.
Try gimme solution without affecting my new version 20. of firmware.

This is a common Nokia phone problem and i am afraid the solution is not a pleasant one. Infact i spent a good few days when i got my 5800 trying to fix it with Nokia customer care being useless.
Have you installed the PC OVIO suite on your PC? If so do this and open it up.
–>Perform a backup of your entire phone using it and keep that file safe
–>Press on the dialer: *#7370#
This will restart your phone and perfom a HARD RESET, formatting your phone back to factory settings.
–> Use PC OVIO to restore your Phones data and hopefully this will remove that stupid certificate error thing that Nokia cant be bothered to fiX!

Not working!!! I did a backup, then hard reset, then restored the backup files on the phone and still it says Certificate Expired. BTW when i restore the backup it automaticly restore the latest firmware too.. should it b like that ?

Hi,
I installed fring on my nokia 5800 and it installed fine, after opening the application and selecting my wireless network for it to connect, it says that it cannot establish connection with fring network. Can you let me know what I need to do for it to connect.

Hi,
Fringe works fine on the Tube, that is skype, msn and google. Only Facebook doesn’t work, somehow it doesn’t recognize my user-id and password. Even after changing password in facebook it still doesn’t work.
Does anyone else have this problem? Admin, can you help?

hi can we use the camera of nokia express music (2 megapixel) in skype video calling.as we all know that we can connect to internet through it. but is it possble to video chat using its own camera and the skype setup install on the mobile(or anyother way to video chat through the mobile )
