Game: Memory Challenge- A workout for your Grey Matter

When the our iPhone killer- Nokia 5800 was first launched, we remember a considerable chunk of critics pointing out to the absence of avid third party applications. Its been around a year since the launch now and not only has the 5800 silenced the critics with its stellar sales of around 8  million worldwide, but the developer community has welcomed the new platform with open arms.

While we have been covering apps from biggies like SBSH, MMMOOO, Offscr, ThinkChange, SPB, etc, individual developers are also coming up with indigenous solutions. One such game is Memory Challenge by our friend Neil from Ireland who has designed a fun little memory game, the kinda which you would have played sometime or the other. Well as you may have guessed by now, its a java based game and as with every java based app/game on s60 v5 platform, we gotta get rid of the onscreen navigation keypad. Head over to Settings->Application mgr.->Installed apps.->Challenge Midlet suite->Options->Suite Settings->On-screen keyboard-> Off

With this setting, the game is fully functional with full screen visibility. Now lets dwell into the gameplay of this memory game: You gotta do is tap on the “?”s which will reveal the hidden sign and remember the location. The objective is to find the location of “?” with the same hidden sign. This is one of the most popular memory games which has been successfully ported to the touchscreen platform.

Verdict

Memory Challenge is one of the best games we have seen from an individual developer. While there is always room for improvement, we certainly appreciate the effort put in developing the application. Thanks to folks like Neil, our 5800 community is going stronger by the day and we know for sure that the symbian eco-system is here to last.
