Nokia Messaging needs no introduction for 5800ers but guess what, the Messaging service just got better with the service now opening doors to new avenues. We were tipped off of this launch from the Nokia Messaging blog, which made the formal announcement of the portal, Messaging.Nokia.com going live.
Frankly speaking, we wouldn’t have bothered much about Nokia Messaging service, given the cold shoulder response we have been getting on our 5800s for the messaging service. However, the new website promises new services and there is always a hope of things getting better with time.

Here’s what The Nokia Messaging Team have to say about their new website:
This site captures everything related to Messaging – Email, IM, Social Networking and Ovi Mail across S60, S40, and Maemo. The site has helpful how-to videos and brings in content from user guides, the official Nokia support forums, BetaLabs and from blogs and Twitter.
Try it out today – visit the site on your phone or computer. The site is device and country aware: select your device and see exactly what’s available for you in Messaging. Please let us know what you think and if there’s anything else you’d like to see!
Well, we would say to first iron out the things with the Nokia Messaging service but then the website promises a host of new services, which we are hoping will paint a rosier picture. The messaging services as such are country specific, so do let us know if there is anything new you can do with your 5800s from where you are based.

^ There are a couple of apps that you can get to do that. ThreadSMS and Free iSMS are two of them. You have to pay for ThreadSMS and right now I’m using Free iSMS and it works great. You can ignore your inbox entirely by just using this app and it’s all right there in conversation mode. The only downfall is that you must sign it yourself (a hassle these days.)
