With our 5800s selling in bucketloads everywhere, its been hard differentiating our 5800s from others. While you can always customize your phones with different wallpapers and homescreens, there is no telling them apart when the phones are locked. How about customizing the way you lock/unlock your phone? Sounds cool right? So thought our friend Yuelongr with his application- MyKeyLock v1.1.7.
Yuelongr is adding a whole new dimension to how 5800ers can customize their phones and stand out in the crowd. Eager to know what MyKeyLock can do? Hit on the jump button for screenshots and a demo video.
Screenshots-

Well thats the welcome screen on the extreme left followed by the settings screen to its right. Without much ado, lets straight away get into the demo video, for even we cannot keep our eye from it even after toying with this app for a while now.
Now thats probably the coolest thing that we have seen anyone do with their 5800s. The settings are pretty straight forward and since you guys have already seen the video, you know exactly what each term refers to in the settings mode.
What we like?
- Awesome gesture based control for lock/unlock
- We love the sound effects too
- Background and slider images can be changed
- Can be used as a theft alarm app too
What we don’t like?
- Unsigned app (Signing an app is no bid deal though. Check out this tutorial over at dailymobile forum if you are newbies to signing apps for your 5800s)
Verdict
We don’t want to waste much words here for this app totally blew us away with its gesture and accelerometer based controls for lock/unlocking our 5800. Its a “must have“, no doubt about that and lets not forget to thank Yuelongr for all his effort and hope the app gets better as and when its made public. Till then have fun fooling around with your novice 5800 friends with super cool lock-unlock features of your 5800s.

As we said its an “unsigned” application, so you need to sign it yourself for your phone. Check the dailymobile link above and follow the process. Thats little technical and frustrating but we have no other option.

Certificate error.
Thursday, October 22nd, 2009 at 6:38 pm
*HERE WE ARE THE INSTRUCTION TO INSTALL THIS PROGRAM AND OTHER .SIS WITH CERTIFICATE ERROR*
-Download the program unsigned (from the link above in this case)
-Go there: https://www.symbiansigned.com/app/page/public/openSignedOnline.do
-Insert your IMEI. The fast way to know what IMEI you have is to write *#06# on the keyboard phone. Otherwise, you can read it in your original Phone Package in a side on a white stripe. It should be written also under the battery cover.
-Insert a working Email
-Upload the program unsigned which you have previously downloaded and insert the security code. Click on “Accept legal agreement” and then “Send”.
After few minutes you will receive a confirmation email and then a link where you can download your SIGNED program, to install without certificate error.
Time extimated for all the process and installation: 7 minutes max
Enjoy!

@telefoontje: You’re welcome
This program is VERY cool and powerful but there should be a guide for all the large options.

the anti-theft works like this – you must put it inside something like a pocket or a bag, something enclosed..then leave it there for x seconds based on your settings. Then take it out, after x seconds (based on settings again) teh alarm will trigger..if u dowan it to trigger when u take out the device, make sure u use the slider to unlock the phone during the first x seconds.

This is the coolest tool for Nokia 5800. I’ve been waiting for this app for a long time. Now it’s finally here. No need to buy those crappy key unlocking apps out there – you sucks while this MyKeyLock ROCKS! To all Nokia 5800 owners out there, this is a must have application for all of us. Thanks a lot to the creator Yuelongr.

Hi guys,
just a little trick to help those who already signed the app and still having certificate problems.
after downloading the file and trying to install, if you get an error saying that there is a certificate problem or your phone’s date is incorrect, just edit your mobile date adjusting the date one day ahead of the real date.
ex. today is nov. 7, adjust the phone’s date to nov.8 first before trying to install the app to avoid having certificate problems.
then just return the date to normal once installation is complete.
hope I help the others! cheers!

Once signed works a charm although all the techinhal language is difficult to understand and when set up wrong it can cause alot of hasstle such as tapping your phone will lock it and you havent noticed this is what triggers it and can be a nussance to change

to all that get “Certificate eror” there are 2 alternative :
1 . sign the application via opda or isign.imobile.cn
2 . or hack your phone!!
