Nokia 5800 Gets a Facelift- Comes with Navigation Bundle
Filed Under Nokia 5800 Best Deals, Nokia 5800 News
The love of our lives, the Nokia 5800 just got better. As if the alluring 3.5″ touchscreen was not enough, the black plastic bezel around the upper periphery now wields a chrome coating to add that additional oomph factor to the looks of our Tube 5800s.
Unveiled today by Nokia, the “Nokia 5800 Navigation Edition” will be pre-loaded with lifetime of voice-guided Drive and Walk navigation license for the onboard Ovi Maps. We are not done yet, Nokia is also throwing-in navigation specific accessories like Nokia self-mount car kit, consisting of a Nokia Car Charger (DC-4), Car Holder Pack (CR-103), Rotating swivel adaptor (AD-69) and Easy Mount (HH-17); all this for just €285 (before subsidies and taxes). Check out the gallery after the break.

Thats good enough a reason for all the non-Tube 5800ers out there to join the cult. We have been telling you that our Tube 5800 is the way to go with its touchscreen and superior music capabilities and now with the latest Ovi Maps, its can also serve as a stand-alone navigation device. Take a look at The Nokia 5800 Navigation edition in action:
We are heading straight to our nearest Nokia dealer to make sure we are on the pre-book list (if there is any) but we are told that the device will be hitting the shelves sometime in third quarter of 2009. So till then we can just drool over the images and videos doing the rounds in the web.

The theme looks fine ! The news “buttons” look nicer than what we have now.
Hope the theme will be available for our classics 5800s.

(sorry for double post)
I prefer the look of the classic Tube because this one makes me think too much of the iShit from the fruit company…

It’s not fair fo those who already have the first 5800, we can’t buy a new 5800 again and again, this is dumb!!!

I hope it means we’ll have future updates for our “old” 5800…
Widgets, SIP calls, more features on the home screen… (and correct that fu**ing bug always showing unread emails!!)
For the design I like my black one. It has the steel belt, better than this super-shiny version….
And I’m sure for those who want to upgrade they will change only the body of the phone for a good price (aka waiting for ebay :))

I just couldn’t find the black version in France so I’m sticked with the red one.
For the bug of the non existing unread e-mail, you just have to choose one random mail then put it as unread then put it as read again and the logo in the top of the screen will disapear !

@NiceOne:
you’ll find the black version on ebay at a good price. I bought it in Switzerland, it was sold at the same price of the red and blue version (no CWM). In Italy (where I live) the black version was for CWM only. But now they cut the price and a CWM costs the same as the standard version (I worked as Nokia promoter for 3 months. Nobody wanted the CMW that costed 140 euro more!!).
For email unread bug: Thanks for the trick! Until now I used the old Bill Gates trick: switch off and than switch on!

mmmm. If you change the product code of the 5800? And update? But maybe it checks the phone IMEI or they’ll give you a serial to put to register. I don’t think we will use the full navigation. Let’s wait and see what will happen.
Btw Michael you can install Garmin Mobile XT if you want a full working navigation system that doesn’t need a monthly subscription

I bought mine for 69€ with the points from my operator so I’ll stick with my red one until the evolution comes out, hoping it will be full black ! ^^
And you’re welcome for the trick it’s a community we have to help each other !

I have black classic 5800 which I able to find but very hardly continously I searched 1 month each and every places. I didnt buy until I found black one. Red and Blue look kinda funky better for young people not mature IT professional like me.
Classic 5800 some how look more nicer than this navigation edition.
