no..i prefer resistive screens because of the stylus..applications like notepad and paint works best using a stylus. if capacitive touchscreens support stylus in the future, then, well, maybe i'll reconsider

well, if ever nokia will be changing the screen type, i hope the upgrade will be free for tube users who bought the unit before the upgrade. Looking forward with the capacitive.

Well frankly all this should be based of whatthe users are saying. Just because Nokia upgrades their screen doesnt mean it'll help. Sure, it'll feel much more solid, but your limited what you can use. So I'd just say NOKIA REALEASE MORE MORE FIRMWARE UPDATES.

Espiecially for the camera. I mean...its good. But in low light its horrible...so ive heard. So whatever it may be. Nokia should make this big decision souly of them. But on the users. But then again..thats just my take on all this.

Eh... I consider capacitive to be a downgrade.
Sure, it's more sensitive, but you lose out on the ability to use anything but your finger, and worse, you lose out big time on precision if you need it. I've used an iPhone and a G1 before - both capacitive touch screens - and I was not impressed. They were certainly easy to pick up and use, but beyond that they were not very practical compared to resistive screens.

Ever heard of people unlocking the phone and dialing with the help of their nose - those are poor capacity screens owners trying to dial a number on their iphone when it's cold outside and they wear gloves. Resistive screen owners are not going to get into such trouble ;)

Nokia has just declined, that 5800 XM won't get new screen or any other design or hardware changes.

Frankly, I would rather prefer Nokia really work hard in producing a better and stable firmware, if the firmware is good and stable, it is likely that Nokia users would be very happy with whatever screen type...

Don't really know if it will work with the current firmware, the text input like mini QWERTY & handwriting recognition will not work. You cant use a normal stylus. Firmware needs to be upgraded to allow easy texting before capacitive touchscreen is implemented. Capacitive touchscreen would go well on the upcoming N97.

if they will really replace it by new capacitive screen, i'll suggest that they should let the customers have a choice, give them the phone and change it or leave it as resistive screen for those who want=]
