Over this weekend, Nokia announced that they have just shipped the 1 million Nokia 5800 XpressMusic phones making it one of their most successful phones to date. The milestone coincides with the successful sales start of the device in the UK.
Following its introduction in October 2008, the Nokia 5800 XpressMusic has seen successful sales starts in a number of markets, including Hong Kong and Moscow where the device sold out within hours of the sales start.
“The Nokia 5800 XpressMusic has been received very positively and this milestone is just further proof that people all over the world want a device that is not only a great music experience, but also makes the most of touch screen technology,” said Jo Harlow, Vice President, Nokia in Official Press Release.
Even though it hasn’t been released all over the globe, impressive sales in regions like Hong Kong, Russia, Philippines and India as well has helped the Nokia 5800 XpressMusic attain this feat at such a short amount of time. It is beyond our dream now to imagine the sales figures of this phone when it finally gets launched globally and particularly in major markets like US and parts of Europe.
The Nokia Tube has been warmly welcomed in Great Britain too on its launch this Friday. The rains and bad weather didn’t dampen spirits at 5800 launch on London’s Regent Street. More than 150 lined up to be among the first to own a Nokia 5800. Nokia staff were on hand to ensure the gathering crowds stayed both warm and dry. For those without protection, Nokia umbrellas were handed out.

Tom, thanks. But the news is not true (unfortunately), it was a misquoted news. Thats why it was not published here.
If you check, the original source of news is also removed-

The Nokia guy was actually telling this about 5310 XpressMusic, but wrongly said 5800. LOL.
Here is the confirmation for that- http://twitter.com/nokconv/status/1445832852
But I do hope these figures are achievable for 5800 too, possibly we will hear some similar news soon about the updated 5800 sales figures. Cheers!
