We know the target audience for this app may not be even reading this review but then we know our readers have a kind heart and are more than willing to share this amazing app with our “visually” less fortunate friends.
Braille reader is one of the latest products from Nokia Beta Labs and we must confess this is one of the most innovative apps we have seen in this platform. Not only does the app utilise all of 3.2″ of our 5800 screens but also the haptic feedback has been put to good use for the benefit of the visually impaired. Nokia Braille Reader gives SMS for the blind and visually impaired. It captures received SMS messages and brings them to the foreground for reading using Braille and tactile feedback.
Developed in joint collaboration between Finnish Federation of Visually Impaired, Tampere University, and Nokia, this app may as well pave the way for more apps in this genre.
They say a picture is worth a thousand words and we love to extrapolate this to “A video is worth a thousand pictures!”.. So not wasting much time:
Now thats more than self-explanatory, ain’t it? Now that you have understood the basics of the app, we sincerely urge you to pass on this amazing app to our less fortunate friends.

I love the way they’ve chosen a guy with specs in this video. Great marketing technniques at work here, folks.
And why would a bilnd man even buy a touch phone??? A keypad’s what he needs.
Pretty cool gimmick by Nokia. But I don’t deny that this technology is definitely amazing.
