Nokia’s response to Blackberry’s push e-mail, the Nokia Messaging has been updated to v10.1.0.13. The update which brings HTML support to the symbian fifth edition devices (5800, N97, 5530, 5230 and X6) along with other improvements can be accessed by pointing your mobile browsers to email.nokia.com.
HTML support on Nokia Messaging for symbian third edition devices has been available for a while now and the recent update brings certain additions to the HTML support, and users can now view embedded content in emails like graphics, flash, etc. Screenshots after the break.

For the uninitiated, Nokia Messaging is Nokia’s email service, which can pull in contents from as many as 10 email accounts on to your Nokia devices. The latest addition of HTML support makes it one of the best mobile email solutions available across several mobile platforms today.
So the next time you are next to your iPhone armed friend, you know exactly what to brag about, don’t ya?

I’ve been using this to access my gmail account from the phone but it stopped working the other day. I got a message from the Nokia Messaging team and that was it. Is anybody else having problems with this?

The app seems to freeze with the full HTML mails…
By the way, anyone as an idea of how much it will cost in final version ?
@ Martin : I didn’t have any problem like this. Sorry…
@ Malik : I’m not sure because I uninstalled the app this morning but try to look if you find a configuration page in application parameters.

You can set the default connection on sending and receiving definitions inside email/mailbox settings. It’s really deep inside.

For some reason after downloading the app and restarting the phone (as it requests restart to continue installation) Nokia Messaging exits automatically and never finishes the installation. When i run the setup from the menu, it starts and asks for a permission to access the internet, but if i press “yes” it exits again. Tried reinstalling but nothing works.
Anyone with any ideas?
5800 with v30 firmware

Thanks Nice,
but it’s impossible for me to run this app for unknown reason.
I even went to betalabs and found an earlier beta version which i installed according to a step-by-step process posted @ betalabs website. Still, it exits with no message when i start the application. Guess i gotta wait for the next version of the app, hoping it will run.
Now the last thing I’ll do is to try installing via PC suite or smth… no options left:)

I tried this app for a couple of days on my 5800 and today i removed it. The main reason is that it doesn’t always drop the connection after checking email. Another reason, perhaps less important, if it didn’t recognize the mime type of an attachment, it doesn’t give me the option to download it. The GUI is nice and all (i loved the fact the it has nice HTML support) but for somebody that uses email a lot, I would still recommend Profimail: HTML support is rather crappy and the UI is not that nice, but functionality wise it kicks a$$.
