Orange Brings ‘Comes With Music’ on Nokia 5800 in UKFiled Under Nokia 5800 News
Orange has become the first operator in the UK to offer Nokia’s Comes with Music service exclusively on the Nokia 5800 XpressMusic. Offering access to the Nokia Music Store with over 6 million tracks, Comes With Music will be available from Orange on the device across a selection of Orange pay monthly price plans and upgrades from Friday 29th May 2009.
Orange offers a free Nokia 5800 if clients sign up for packages, with monthly prices starting from £24.47. Its closest rival iPhone, without free music access, is free at rival O2 on contracts starting from £34.26.
Mark Loughran, Managing Director, Nokia UK, said: “Mobile music is key to both Orange and Nokia, so we’re delighted to have them as our exclusive partner for Comes With Music on our best-seller – the Nokia 5800. The ability to download all the music you love, free and legally from the Nokia Music Store on a great choice of Orange tariffs will change music forever”.
‘Comes With Music’ offers unlimited music from major music labels and a number of independents and the music can be kept after the contract has expired. The individual tracks can be downloaded to a phone and a single computer and are free, though the cost of the music is reflected in the price of the phone or subscription itself.
The music industry hopes Nokia’s “Comes with Music” phones and music service, and similar packages from other hardware vendors, will help make up for falling CD sales and cut illegal downloads.
