Pikkoo ScreenSaver Manager Launched for Nokia 5800
Filed Under Nokia 5800 Applications, Nokia 5800 Wallpapers
We remember a lot of you compaint initially on the lack of applications available for Nokia 5800. Since Nokia 5800 launched with the latest Symbian S60 5th edition, there were not many apps available. But now you must be happy to see new apps popping up every other day and the old ones updating for the S60V5 platform.
‘Pikkoo Screensaver Manager‘ v0.9.2 is the latest outstanding application just out for the Symbian S60 V5 phones like Nokia 5800 and forthcoming Nokia N97. Pikkoo enables anyone to create, download and share interactive mobile screensavers and wallpapers for free.
Mobile screensavers and wallpapers are very popular, reaching millions of screens every day; however the technology is very old and does not offer any functionality. Utilizing Adobe Flash Lite and Kuneri technologies, Pikkoo makes personalization and interaction possible, supporting all handsets available today. Using Pikkoo, anyone can easily design their own content, then share it with their friends via popular social utilities like Facebook and MySpace.

“We have been creating innovative enabling mobile technologies for developers. Now it’s time for us to use it for ourselves and show how powerful they can be.” says Ugur Kaner, CEO of the Finnish company.
“Pikkoo is not only a novel online platform providing mobile content to end users, but also a unique marketing channel for brands and creative marketers. Imagine your brand in front of a person for more than 20 times a day. That’s what we call high impression.” he continues.
To download and install Pikkoo all you have to do is-
1) Download Pikkoo here- www.pikkoo.com/get and install the .sis file on your phone.
2) Browse screensavers in Pikkoo gallery and note down the pCode (download code) as shown in the picture below-

3) Run Pikkoo on your phone, go to download menu, enter the pcode and download.
4) Activate the screensaver.
Thats it. Now just browse through the vast collection of screensavers and wallpapers they have in the gallery or create your own and download for free on your Nokia 5800. But remember, you can keep just 12 screensavers at once while using the Pikkoo (Beta).
We found Pikkoo very user friendly with easy to setup and use. If while starting it asks you for a serial no., just press ’skip’ as you are using it in the beta mode. You can preview each screensaver on your phone before activating it. Screensaver timeout can be set from 5 seconds to 40 seconds.
Another interesting thing is the ’share’ feature, which allows you to send text message from within the application to your friends telling them about Pikkoo. The application can also be updated from within the interface when a new version is available.
Overall Pikkoo is a great tool to play with and a must have for your Nokia 5800. Pikkoo received an award at London Smartphone Show 2008 from a jury including Nokia, Samsung, Motorola, Orange and Symbian, and the Judge’s Choice Award for Nokia Calling All Innovators 2008 contest. Hey, it took me awhile to figure it out as well, but once you get used to, it’s quite straight forward
Weiqiang, why don’t you try their forums, they replied me back real quick.

This application drained my battery… watch out… also, when the screensaver is active you can’t control the playback commands (volume, play, pause, stop, etc) with the little remote control.
Really… it’s cute… but sucks… have fun!

Battery consumption seem to depend of the screensaver type, there are many differences..
Also user’s habit how ofter screensaver pops up/day and phone model matter.
Is yours also 5800? What is “remote control” actually? Xpress shortcut?

I figured out battery depends on the screensaver you use. Some consume more than others.. Hard to say sucks, am loving it

Is this a 3days trial version?
I can’t open it again after 3 days. After I choose to skip the License Code, the app. shut down..
