Are you a frequent flyer or interact with overseas contacts on a regular basis? Then a world clock should definitely be on your table and if not, you are fortunate that your 5800 can double up as a world clock, courtesy- World Clock Touch from Offscreen Technologies.
While Time Machine served as an impressive standby clock, Offscr’s World Clock Touch converts our tube 5800 to standalone world clock, which can simultaneously display as many as 3 clocks in the analogue mode on the active screen. Screenshots and details after the break.
Screenshots-

Looks impressive right? The analogue clock look cool and with the day-night indicator in the form of background of the clock, a quick glance at the screen reveals a ton of information on the local times shown in the three clocks. In order to change the timezones, all you need to do is tap on the clock and select the corresponding time zone in the map mode.
So far its been very impressive but the app has a glaring loophole in the fact that the times are not accurate at all. When we ran a quick check by selecting our local time zone, we found to our utter dismay that the time displayed was off by more than 12 hours!

What we Like?
- Impressive design
- Day-Night indicator is a cool feature
What we hate?
- Time display is not representative
- Support for more clocks (Default symbian clock can display as many as 7 clocks in a single screen)
- Absence of digital clocks
Verdict
World Clock Touch does impress us with its impressive design and streamlined interface. However the app fails miserably in its core task-displaying accurate time. We are not sure whats the rationale behind the faux in this app: our symbian clocks were set to the correct time zone and were very much displaying the local time all along when the app was displaying some random time.
The developers at Offscr need to sort out the issue asap, else the app is nearly useless even though it has a very well designed interface and easy to configure. I hope the developers can fix this asap to render the app useful after all the good work that has gone behind in developing this application.
Well, if you don’t mind inaccurate timings and just wish to flaunt the growing app support on 5800, you can download the app for free from the ovi webstore (login required).
