I think its a great phone, wi fi is really good, the os seems to need a little trimming bcos it is seems a bit slow but it handles apps quite well, comparing with star 3g i will definitly go for xm 5800 though corby pro seems a good choice it terms of look and user interface, but maybe the new firmware update ver 40 will remove some of these negative s, the updates are available now, though i have not personally downloaded it myself, there is also a strip down versions of xm overall I would say its a great phone, I have used many phones ofcourse not all of them in the pricey bracket but this is the the first time I have really felt proud and satisfied with I bought, XM 5800 rocks like as if the very Devil’s tail is on fire !

Thanks Zen, a westerner here... What is the difference between the red/blue 5800 and the black 5800? There are a LOT of cheap black units on the market in North America.

Hello!
Just to clarify for the western country (Americans). Stylus here for Nokia 5800 is not the main tool to be use for the screen. It is just one of the selection for the user on how he use the screen. Try first before you say anything…
iPhone cannot recognize handwriting recognition while nokia 5800 does.
Westerners thought that iphone is the most modern phone in the world… but they didn’t know it doesn’t.
I know westerners are too behind in terms of technology.
Example:
1. iphone still cannot send mms…(backwards)
2. iphone cannot send files through bluetooth. (I hope you know this term)
3. iphone don’t have 2 way video calling. Why? because apple doesn’t know much about this and also the technology of the country.
4. iphone still doesn’t have flash media on there OS.
5. iphone doesn’t have automatic voice recognition.
6. iphone cannot print directly to printer.
7. iphone cannot send video files or stream to other devices in real time.
8. HSDPA not yet in iphone and network.
9. much much more…

All of the above are already a standard features in Europe and Asia mobile phones eight (8) years ago.
3g (3rd generation network) has already been established 5 years ago.

How many mobile phone companies from US? 2?
motorola- is there any other design? horrible design.
apple iphone- what are other phone aside from iphone? uhmmm nothing?

That’s all folks. Hope you understand that.
Thank you.

I got my Nokia 5800 a month ago and have had nothing but trouble with it I have been in constant touch with nokia to no avail. I got it because it played music like an Ipod and had a GPS. I ride a motorbike and with the headphones in I thought I would be able to ride and listen to my music and use the GPS on trips. It constantly freezes and you have to stop remove your gloves and helmet and reboot the thing only to have to go through the same procedure 5 or 6 times on an hour ride. I would advise anybody thinking of getting a 5800 to think again. IT'S A PIECE OF JUNK!!!!
