The latest news is that Russia will be the first country in the world to start delivering Nokia 5800 Tube. At a Nokia-conference held today at Moscow, a news spread out that Nokia Tube will start its journey from Nokia Flagship Store in Russia on December 05, 2008, followed by Ukraine and Kazakhstan. Nokia did not confirmed the news yet with an official press release.
Another news for Russians is that the Tube 5800 XpressMusic is priced too high for them compared to the European version which is just 279EUR. The 5800 Touch Screen will cost approx 16000 RUB (Russian Rubles) in Russia which is equal to almost $600 or 458EUR. The price is still much less than the Russian Iphones ($1000).
Russians seems to be crazy these days about the touch screen devices and particularly Iphone which started selling out in Russia on 3rd of this month. The current price for official Apple Iphone in Russia is 23,000 Rubles ($870) & 27,000 Rubles ($1000+) for 8 & 16 GB models respectively. Nokia targets to hit this market with their much cheaper and better touchscreen smart phone.
Tube 5800 will be available in Ukraine in the second half of December and Kazakhstan in Jan 2009. No word was out today about the availability in other expecting countries like India, Indonesia, Hong Kong, UAE, etc. We are still hopeful of the release of Nokia Tube in these countries before Xmas this year or very early of 2009. Markets like US and Europe may see the 5800 coming in Q1 of 2009.

Dear Nokia,
If you are not going to release the much sought after 5800 model in India before 22.11.2008, I am sure you are going to lose your market share quite considerably because you have made genuine buyers more speculative and waiting and that too beyond the point of desperation and dejection.
Good Luck Nokia !
