Sms Preview permits you to instantly preview incoming sms messages and see what is sent and who has sent it when the message arrives without a single click! See message previews for 5-60 seconds on the screen until it disappears or until you double click, the choice is yours.
With Sms preview, you can save time and effort by not having to click and show your message folder for those SMS messages that are not important. No more worrying about the “New Message” notifications and wondering what it is about.
According to the developer this application is a freeware but the first time you start the application, the app will send a activation sms.
You can also adjust the settings as per your needs. Navigate to the SMS Preview application and open the application, under settings you have options to turn the SMS Preview feature off, and adjust the various settings (preview length, etc).

The company is also the winner of the 2009 GSMA Mobile Innovation Award winner for Best Mobile Consumer Application with 118 Mobile, a real world directory lookup service.
SMS Preview is available for free on Nokia’s OVI Store or you can download directly from here.

on OVI they say that the update is coming.
i guess, since that was posted 4 hours ago, that this is still the old version, right?
do you know if the app will update itself automaticaly or is it better to wait for the update?
tnx!

@Seeke- The version available above is the latest as on date. You can check for any further updates from within the application (see screenshot) as and when they are available.

How much is the “Activation Sms” ?
Friday, June 12th, 2009 at 2:25 am
Pay attention!!! I’ve just read on another site that the application is Free only for the first two weeks…Then, you must to pay!

@Fabio- I just found it sent sms to Sweden for activation without my consent. Thats a bad part of this application IMO. The developer should provide a way to register online and not via international sms.
So thats the only cost of using this tool- the activation sms.
Secondly, this application is a “freeware” not a trial/demo/shareware. So you dont have to pay anything ever for using it. Check the official site for more info- Smspreview.net

Every time I try to activate this on my Nokia 5800, it fails. It seems to send an SMS and waits about 30 seconds and then says it failed. Anyone else have trouble activating? Are there any alternative activation methods?

I can’t seem to send the SMS Activation. Why is that? Do we need an internet connection or the MMS thingy-ma-jig? HELP!

it has sent 2 international sms with my phone’s IMEI number during activation process.

@Robi- For activation, you will need international messaging enabled on your phone by your service provider. No need for internet/mms..

It’s working perfectly on my device now! Like hamed, I do recommend using the internet connection for faster activation, because that worked on me.

During activation, it prompted me to connect to the internet which I did but I also found out that it automatically sent an international sms at the same time which costs me. The IMEI that was sent wasn’t mine so I’m confused. It has been working perfectly since I’ve installed it. It’s only been a few hours. So far so good.

Installed fine (via WiFi), but does not work in Japan…previous are just boxes and symbols (even though my friends write me in English, NOT Japanese…)
