Time Machine: Free Countdown/ Stopwatch App for 5800
Filed Under Nokia 5800 Applications
Nokia 5800 does not have an inbuilt countdown timer or stopwatch as you may know. If you feel a need for that sometimes, the timer application is here now. Time Machine is a freeware application which can be used both as countdown timer or stopwatch. The application has cool graphics as you can see in the screenshots.
Time Machine lets you count the remaining or passed time for any purpose you can think of. Alarm function is also included which will alert you when the countdown timer reaches zero.
Time Machine is a nice, easy to use little application for everyone that reminds you of timely matters, such as cooking, timing yourself for a test or speech, or as a parking meter alert or hundreds of other uses, just set up the timer and rest your mind about it.
Screenshots:

The latest update version 1.03 brings lot of improvements in the user interface and functionality. Now it is possible to choose between two predefined alarm tone, set volume and select style. It looks like a great update that definitely worth downloading.
Time Machine works with Symbian S60 3rd and 5th edition devices.
So is the Time Machine of any use to you? For what purposes this little application can be used?
Any Ideas.. share with others
UPDATE:
The application got a major update with its latest version 2.0.1. Check the details in the updated post or download it here.

the only problem i could say is that this appl pause when its idle, you cannot receive a call without stopping the time… a little bit stupid for a phone app… indeed, its a good app, i hope next version will fix this.

This looks like it will make a great poker timer. Thanks for the tip.

Nice idea- but it stops counting if you move to another application or manually lock the phone. If it could run in the background it would be useful, but without…
Great app save for this fatal shortcoming.

I hope i can now let this run in the background, I almost burnt a pizza due to it pausing the timer when its not focused on.

Why does this app request permission to read user data and make phone calls?

Hi. I just updated Time Machine to version 2.01. You can download it from dailymobile.se.
The application is made with Flash and Flash apps can’t run in the background, so there’s not much can do about that. Anyways this new version catches the time up when it’s brought to foreground and so it works when counting up. But when counting down it goes under zero without alarming.
I packed the flash with http://www.kunerilite.net/ and I have no idea why it requests permission to read user data and make calls but trust me: it doesn’t
