Weekend Fun App: Spin the Bottle Touch for Nokia 5800

We know you guys have been working hard over the week and its time to let your hair down and party, for its the weekend now. Thanks to Offscr Technologies, we just found an awesome app to add to the party spirit of the weekend. Spin The Bottle Touch brings the classic party game to our beloved 5800s.

In case you haven’t heard have this party game (which is highly unlikely), its a party game wherein players sit around in circle at the center of which is an empty bottle (usually an empty wine bottle). One of the player spins the bottle and the person the bottle points to on becoming stable is required to do certain things (players usually set a fixed set of rules prior to gameplay but the classic version involves kissing on the lips!). Now lets see how this party game looks like on Nokia 5800.

Any app/game from Offscr Technologies can be easily identified with their help and close button in the upper half of the homescreen. We have kinda developed a liking for their simple but well-designed interface. As always the developers have done an excellent job of adapting a game (a party game in this case) to a touch screen mobile device.

The bottle can be spinned by just tapping on the homescreen or dragging the bottle around in either ways to initiate the spin. The graphics are impressive and the whole game as such is very easy to use and is a perfect party companion.

While we are very much impressed by the overall design of the game, we can’t help but complain about absence of some features like sound effects and some cheat codes! (As a 5800 user, initiating a party game, we would love to have some control over the game, won’t we?). Our developer friends at Offscr Technologies have a good track record of successful adaptations of several games/apps to the symbian fifth edition platform and we hope they can include these minor additions in the next version of Spin The Bottle Touch.
