Yeah, it has finally landed on our 5800s! After more than a year or since the symbian fifth edition platform went live, our friends in Redmond have finally woken up to its existence and launched an official client for Windows Live Messenger on this platform.
If you have been an avid hotmail user (like we are), you would have probably missed that MSN like feel to the IM windows while using the several third party IM clients like Nimbuzz and Parlingo. Well, now that the official version is out, lets see what it measures up to on our 5800s.
Screenshots-

The interface does look familiar with the desktop version, ain’t it? Infact, you feel at home very much from the welcome screen: everything looks and works the same as in the desktop version and should come as a relief to all those who have been missing the aesthetics of Windows Live on 5800s.
What we like?
- Familiar interface
- Contact management as in the desktop version of Windows Live
- Support for smileys
What we don’t like?
- Absence of video call/chat
Verdict
The official version of Windows Live, though it took long to reach the symbian fifth edition phones is a welcome move from Microsoft. We are talking for millions of 5800s and other symbian fifth edition devices users when we say that we are really glad to have this official Windows Live client on our devices for we are so addicted to it and now we can use at the whim of our fancy. Further the familiar interface and contact management along with the smiley support make it indispensable for all our IM needs.
If you are a Windows Live user, this is definitely a must have for your 5800s.

Having the same problem as Taylan.
Was installing the file and when installation reached 100% it says “Loading canceled”.
Last unsupported version was given last January, I hope we will get a proper Windows Live Messenger for Nokia 5800 by 2011.

It’s great but i have a problem, whenever I let my cell away for a while and come back and open the client (which is already running) it gives me the Status Updated message and then starts reloading the contacts like it has signed out and resigned in again
it really bothers me…
is anyone having the same? or is there a solution?

It wont install in my side and even it wont it added hotmail thing in my message menu which was horrible infact was showing error and made me tense for many hours.

My friend phone was also hanging and was going crazy after this try.
