XpressAlarm: Theft Protection Application for Nokia 5800

We all love our Nokia Tube and can’t imagine if it gets stolen away from us, right? Well here is an application which is an ultimate theft protection tool for the Nokia 5800. XpressAlarm makes a siren alarm sound if someone tries to steal the phone from your pocket.
XpressAlarm is a free application which is based on Python (not lower than 1.9.4). To safeguard your phone from the thieves all you have to do is enable the application, lock the phone and put it in pocket. If your phone is out of pocket, the siren blows up. To ensure that the siren is not sounded, just unlock your phone.
XpressAlarm is also useful to alert you in case of accidental drop of the phone from the pocket in a crowded place. The application can use the inbuilt accelerometer to detect movements. In the settings you can set the time to lock and the time before the sounding of the alarm, as well as to disable all sounds, except for sirens.

The application is free but if you like the application, you can make a small donation to the developer Igor’s website (the same guy who has written XpressBeer).

Steps:
1) Install Python 1.9.5 (should be at least 1.9.4).
2) Install XpressAlarm in the same drive you installed Python.
3) Run the application and lock the phone without exiting the app.
4) Put the phone in your pocket, you should hear a beep sound.
5) Now take out the phone from pocket and the siren should blow up.
Note: If the application does not work for you at once after installation, restart the phone and try again, it sould work fine.

hey, just letting you know with my 5800 this app works fine when i dnt use my case, as soon as i put my phone in my case the beep sounds indicating its working but then i dropped my phone on my couch and the alarm didnt work… i think it has something 2 do with the case being on the phone coz when i take the phone out of the case the alarm goes off so can u please pass this on 2 the person that made the app he might know how 2 fix it… thanks

@Mukky- The application use the proximity sensor on the phone and thus it will not work if it is covered with a phone case.
You have to use it without cover to make it work

@Jack- You can install the application via Nokia PC Suite or just import the sis file in your phone and open it and it will install.

Hi, I like his idea. But, i have found one possible issue.
If i take the phone out of one pocket and put it in other pocket, then the app doesn’t work, if
that was faster than the time to trigger seconds settings. Also it seems to me that if you even touch the unlock button by mistake while taking the phone out of the pocket, it doesn’t pull the trigger.
In Real life, generally a thief would put the device immediately in his pocket after stealing most of the times.
Also half of the time, you try to pull the device out of the pocket, you are bound to touch the unlock key to which the app is very sensitive.
Nonetheless, its a good app.

I think many of you guys must have heared about wavesecure application.
It is free for Nokia phones above 200$USD.
go to http://nokia.wavesecure.com and download the installer on to ur fone and update ur details there like IMEI number code..etc
with this official nokia application we can assign
safe SIMS to it,
Lock ur fone remotely ie;online if it is stolen. Even if the theif wants to reformat the fone he cant.
You can take the fone backup regularly online
and also u can erase important info remotely.
when u lock it. the fone gives a scaring alarm so that theif cant hide it.
U can track ur fone on map online also…

@Unknown: Soft reset (factory settings)= *#7380# & Hard reset (Format) = *#7370#
It is recommended that you save all important information on your phone before doing that.

Sounds great, but it doesn’t work !
I’ve installed Phyton 1.9.5 first and then XpressAlarm and when I run the application (I click on it) it doesn’t run (the right-top point appears but it stops and never run).
I tried again and I installed the on the phone memory this time and when I run the application it finally runs but on the full screen appears codes of the game and down : Options and Exit (Options doesn’t work)
And this happens with the XpressBeer too ! Can somebody help me ?

This is a fake, a trick.
It doesn’t work in any shape or form. Doesn’t even load a “Sounds” folder on install.

NO Way, this apps sucks!
I already installed it first to the PHone’s memory, it doesn’t work, I restarted the phone, its still doens’t work and gets error, like programming code error….
I tried to my memory card, but still didn’t work….
Sucks Sucks Sucks…
I think this apps will run to the 5800 Higher updated version.
My current software version is: V10.0.010
